Cardiff Parent Network
The Brief
Cardiff Parent Network enables parents to campaign for the best and most appropriate services for anyone bringing up a child in Cardiff.
Working with people parenting from all sorts of backgrounds, they wanted a set of 10 stories that raised the issues people face and praised those providing good service.
The outcome
The ten stories were told by single parents, parents overcoming drink and drug-related problems, people bringing up children with physical and other disabilities, grand-parents bringing up grand-children, parents struggling with twins as well as those who had suffered the death of a child.
Presenting a deeply moving view of the complexities of parenting in 2011, the stories were screened to a large audience of family, friends and professionals at Cardiff City Stadium in March 2011 and made into a DVD with a supporting booklet to discuss the issues raised.
The stories are not shown here because of the vulnerability of the children and adults concerned.
