Treorchy Primary meets the Choir
Meeting the choir
The school invited the choir members to come early and the children dressed in their best to welcome them and interview them.
As a result of what they learned, the children decided to visit a rehearsal.
They then divided into sub-groups according to their personal interests and invited a small number of choir members back to answer final questions, record stories and provide photos and memorabilia.
Building the stories
The children learned to construct a digital story by video-editing the recording of their visitor in Windows Moviemaker. Then they scripted, recorded, took photos and video-edited their personal responses to their particular visitor's tale.
Finale
All the stories were put on a DVD and the choir were invited back to see them. Each child and choir storyteller had a copy to take home.
The school has been inspired to start its own choir and even before singing their first note they have been promised the opportunity to sing on stage with the Treorchy Male Choir.
